Environmental isolates

There has been an interesting debate on the Pharmig blog about the pros and cons of using environmental isolates for the testing of culture media (see: http://pharmig.blogspot.com/2010/01/use … lates.html).

If you are using environmental isolates, how many are you using? Also, what actions do yu take if your type cultures grow but your environmental isolates do not?
