Media trial broth

When conducting media trials, has any one used broth (tryptone soya or vegetable peptone) which contains a colour indicator (i.e. when microbial growth occurs, the broth changes colour)?

Yes,I have seen this at a contract manufacturer- the colour went from yellow to red with microbial growth- cannot remember the name of the media supplier though.

I think bioMerieux have introduced a broth powder with a colour change indicator (vegetable peptone broth, which seems to be increasingly being used to replace TSB due to the risk of vCJD).
